A Pink and a Smile – My Pinkspiration

As I sit here and let my freshly painted toe nails dry (a lovely strawberry pink!), I’m thinking about how much I love the color pink and how the different shades make me feel.

When I think of hot, in-your-face pink, I think of summertime, flip flops, sunny days and driving with the windows down. It’s energizing and makes me want to get out and do something (or tan on my dock at the lake and do absolutely nothing)!

On the other end of the spectrum is pastel pink. To me this is baby girls, peonies, and romance. It makes me want to put on a flowy dress and heels and go pick some flowers or walk through the garden. It’s natural and earthy and beautiful.

But my favorite shade of pink is your basic pink. It’s middle of the road. Not too much, not too little, it’s just right. I like to think of this Barbie-esque pink as a great everyday color. You can wear it with a cardigan to class or to the office. Throw on a t-shirt in this color and you are looking great at the gym with some cute shorts. A pink dress is a perfect ensemble for a first date. This shade will never go out of style and has been making girls feel beautiful for decades. Did you notice the shade of lipstick Audrey Hepburn wears in Breakfast at Tiffany’s? (Hint: It’s a lovely shade of pink!)

It’s wonderful how just one color can make me feel so many different emotions. No matter the shade, I always feel beautiful and confident in this color.

ThePinkStore.com is starting a Pinkspiration campaign and we are sharing all of the great things we love about this color and how you can incorporate it in your life. Check out all of our social media sites for what we are saying about Pink!
