What is thepinkstore.com? Where did it come from? Who came up with it and why? These are only a few questions I get asked on a regular basis when it comes to my pink journey. Let me tell you how it all started…
Like most little girls, my pink journey started the day I was born. A pink blanket, a pink baby book, pink pajamas, everything revolved around being a new baby girl. Things haven’t changed much in today’s society and I couldn’t be happier about that! Not because I have a vendetta against blue but simply because the color pink is a gorgeous, happy, soft color which is just how we are when we’re born. It’s truly that simple.
As time went on, the color pink became other things to me like Easter dresses, pink polka dot tights (I loved those tights!), pink jelly shoes, pink hair accessories and the list goes on. When it comes to sports, I’m still considered a girly-girl so when I put on my gym shoes, you better believe there will be pink. Hot pink. There are so many shades of pink and each offers a unique feeling. To me, hot pink is as equally attractive as light pink but with a very different flare. There are days my spirit is feeling quiet or humbled and that’s when a soft, pink hue is more my aura. Then there are those audacious, spitfire days. You know what I’m talking about. The days when everything that comes out of my mouth is on cue, when my music choices equal immediate dancing, when life seems like it simply couldn’t be any better…yes, that’s hot pink!
This sweet and sassy color isn’t just about being a girl but sometimes it’s just about “being”. Thepinkstore.com is for all those little girls, moms, grandmas, aunts, cousins, sisters & friends who just want to be reminded that we can be happy in this crazy world. And sometimes when we’re feeling blue a little dose of pink perks a person up some.
When someone asks me, “how did you come up with this idea?” I usually refer to our three sons and only daughter we have and say that femininity is a priority in my life. As I sit here thinking through all this, the color pink has always been prevalent. It’s just that I couldn’t take keeping it a secret any longer and needed desperately to share how very perfectly this color adapts to everyday life. Yes, it’s truly that simple.
